What is Reiki - Sekhem Healing?

The knowledge that an unseen energy or life force flows through all living things and that this life force is directly connected to the quality of our health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. This life force flows through the physical body and the energy fields that surround our physical form.

Reiki~Sekhem is a combination of two similar yet different vibrations of healing energies. Reiki is the Japanese form, pronounced Ray-Key. Sekhem is Egyptian in origin, pronounced Say-Kem. They are ancient, rediscovered natural healing techniques involving the placement of hands on or over the body in order to channel and balance life force energy to the recipient.

We do not use our own energy to create a healing for our client. Reiki~Sekhem has its own wisdom; it works wherever the recipient needs it most and goes to the deepest levels. As one's life force is replenished, the body's own natural ability to heal itself is activated.

Reiki~Sekhem does not conflict with medical procedures and, in fact, supports and enhances all medical treatments. Reiki is now offered and taught in many hospitals and clinics in the United States and throughout the world.

Reiki translates as Universal Life Force Energy. Sekhem translates as Power, Might, Living Light Energy. Both forms have very ancient roots. We know about Reiki through the work of Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese businessman, who had a spiritual awakening to Reiki on Mt. Kurama in Japan in the early 1900's. Sekhem came to us through Patrick Zeigler, an American, who was awakened to Sekhem in 1979, while fulfilling a lifelong dream of spending a night in the Great Pyramid in Egypt. (see http://www.all-love.com for more information). Sekhem is called by different names as more people become aware of their connection to the energies- i.e. Sekhem, SKHM, Seichim.

Reiki

While most people in this country use the name Reiki to describe the energy healing and its process, Reiki is actually a generic term, used in Japan to describe many types of healing and spiritual work. The system of healing that evolved from Dr. Usui's method is called the Usui System of Natural Healing or Usui Reiki Ryoho. When he first began to offer Reiki, it was a multi faceted, highly intuitive, flexible practice which became more structured and simplified when it came to the United States. I believe that many are beginning to go back to a more intuitive and multi faceted way of working with this energy. As more people are attuned to Reiki they naturally open up to the ways that they have worked with the Reiki Healing Vibration and other healing vibrations and techniques in the past.

Sekhem

Sekhem energies were used by the priests, priestesses and physicians of ancient Egypt. The powerful, transforming and healing power of Sekhem was well respected by all. Information about Sekhem is found in the hieroglyphics on the walls of the temples and pyramids of ancient Egypt. Sekhem also translates as that Magical Power within each of us that once activated places you on your path to Divine Consciousness, if you are willing to take the trip!! It has been described as the kundalini energy that sits at the base of the spine. The Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet, who has the body of a woman and the head of a lioness, is often associated with this energy. In her manifestation, she is described as one who destroys that which no longer serves.

Some describe these energies as Unconditional Love - that which powers, creates and holds all, is in perfect balance and harmony at every moment and in whose presence anything other than Love is transformed and healed.
